My recent experience should be a warning for those using energy comparison sites.
A) Can anyone actually make sense of their annual consumption for these sites?
I used SEVEN sites to compare costs using the same annual costs for gas and electricity. Six of the seven came out with the same leading contenders in the same rank order giving the top as N-Power on line 7 who could save me £64.00(give or take a few pennies).
However when trying Switchwithwhich.co.uk it indicated that I would be paying an extra £66.56 with n-power!! Who is one supposed to believe?

Be careful with nPower. They give the best rates to new customers, then whack their rates up a few months later.

I signed up for "Sign On-Line 4", which was the cheapest deal at the time. A few months down the line, they put my rates up by 15% or so.

New customers at that time were being offered "Sign On-Line 5" which were cheaper than the increased rates they were charging me. I asked if I could switch to the "Sign On-Line 5" tarriff, and was politely told NO. I subsequently took my business elsewhere...
