Hi
First time on here for a long time, I have today applied for a Sainsburys credit card which gave me £500 credit limit which is not any help really with no chance of credit increase for 6 months.
I have a credit card with TEscos with £3000 credit limit which I got with help from a template letter from this site . What I ideally want to do is cancel my Tesco card obviously explaining to Sainsburys that I am doing this to help my chances with a £3000 limit for Sainsburys because I now use Sainsburys all the time and tescos not at all.
Any idea where I can find a copy of this template or help with a new one.
Thanks
Nikki

Dear Tesco,
Please cancel my account 123456789ABDCDEF with immediate effect. Can you also remove details of this as an active account from the relevant credit check agencies. Can you confirm when this has been done.
I have destroyed the card.

[Although I would want to be fairly sure that Sainsbury would increase your limit before doing this, otherwise you've just lost access to £3k of credit and left with £500.]loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

Hi
Anyone please I would like to send this letter today.

Sorry I've never seen a template to ask a creditor to increase a credit limit.
What did you send last time to tesco? was it to ask them to increase the limit or was it an appeal against being declined for the card in the first place?
Do you not still have a copy of that letter you could use?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hi
Sorry I havent explained myself very well, So will try and do it this time. Basically I got approved for a tesco card but they gave me a small limit I posted on here that I wanted a bigger credit limit to match another card that I had.
Someone on here kindly gave me a example of a letter to send to Tescos explaining as i kinda remember that I would cut up my other cards and how I would love to keep all my business etc etc.
Tescos then upped my limit to £3000 it worked and now I want to send that letter to Sainsburys who accepted me for a card today but with a £500 credit limit but unfortunately do not have a copy of the original letter.
Hope that explains can you help??

Hello !! Any help please0

I really doubt, Sainsbury's will increase your credit limit because you promise to cancel your Tesco card. (For all Sainbury's know, you might not carry out that promise, and you will run-up twice the debt.)
Cancel the card first, then ask (a few months later) for your limit to be raised. Of course, there is always the possibility, Sainsbury's will not do it (after all, you're just a brand-new customer without a track record.)0 -
Hi
I thought I would send a letter anyway as it had worked before when I sent a letter to Tesco but like you said I may cancel the credit card for nothing then would be stuck.
Thought I would also send in my other financial accounts with limits etc to see if that would help in the decision as well.

What is the big thing about swapping from a Tesco CC to a Sainsbury's CC?0
