Hello,
Could anyone give me any advice please. We were with Tiscali 3 years ago at our old address but when we moved we cancelled our Tiscali account & joined BT & have been with them ever since.
Then in March 2011 i noticed a new direct debit had been set up by Talk Talk & they had taken around £23, this was refused by my bank & was charged £8 then the following month they took out £41, i cancelled the diret debit so they could not take any more money out.
The problem is the account is in my husbands name & Talk Talk will not speak to me, he is very ill at the moment so i am trying to sort it out. Ive sent a letter which was ignored, e-mailed throught their website where i was told as the account is still active the charges were valid and i should pay immediately, i replied with a copy of my letter demanding that it was passed to the manager & i was reporting them to OFCOM...this has also been ignored.
I have tried to post on the talk talk forum but it says as my account has been barred i cannot register....any ideas please? xx

Seems to be standard procedure for Talk Talk.

Here's hoping your experience is one of those which results in another £3m fine.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Make sure the direct debit stays cancelled and doesn't get recreated by TT, and claim a refund of the money from your BANK under the direct debit guarantee scheme. This gives you a full and immediate refund (by your bank) if a direct debit is taken in error.
