Carpet/house clean

Hi guys, I'm a long time reader of the site, and first time poster (finally!).
Now for my question:
As per our tenancy agreement, we have to have the house cleaned professionally, and have the carpets cleaned before we're handed back our deposit. We're all students studying away at university, so as you can imagine, money is tight.
The cheapest quote we've found is £350 for the cleaning and £140 for the cleaning of the carpets. The house is fairly big (ground floor, first floor, second floor), 4 bed, bathroom etc, but is the price a little steep, or is this just my cheap nature?
Could anyone recommend a good service prehaps?
Thanks in advance guys!

No I don't think that's steep if it's a full professional deep clean and I think that's a good price for carpets.
You might find cheaper so try and get a second quote?0 -
First of all I HAVE been in this situation before and I was only told 2 days before I was leaving the property { after my landlady had 2 months notice } . I tried my best at getting the WHITE carpets clean with professionals etc { stairs n upstairs was fine and didn't look used } downstairs was wear and tear after 3 yrs of living there .
After spending tons of cash - she wasn't impressed - she wanted them looking new !!??!! So I lost my deposit , I wish I hadn't bothered as my deposit worked out only £100 more than the hassle I had , which I never received due to this:(:(
I think the price you have been quoted is extremely reasonable for the house , going off Greater Manchester prices .
But I would be careful after my experience and work out how much it is going to cost and how much your deposit is worthEbay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin

Wow awesome, thanks for the responses guys, I'm a little wiser now
Yeah again, its all white carpets, and she is a very, very fussy woman, but I've looked into it a bit more, and the guy we're hiring is understanding of it, so he said that it'll be a thorough job!
I'm still shopping about to see if theres cheaper though, after all I am a student! :rotfl: thanks again!0
