Legoland Bagdges, How Do you Get Them?

I was just wondering if anyone knows about the badges you can get at Legoland Windsor. I've been to Legoland about 10 times now (4 this year already) but we only really found out about badges on our last visit when we won a gold one on the family challenge.

I'm going to pre-order a picnic for when we return (as you get one with that) and try the family challenge again but how and where else can you win or buy badges?

Joking, my 2 ended up with 9 between them last time we went.
Basically they go up to the staff around the part and ask for a badge, its helps if they are very sweet, polite and the staff will give them one or trade one with them.
Kept my 2 on straight and narrow the whole time!

They've really tightened up on this at the moment and most staff are insisting on trading badges, they won't just give badges away anymore.

The staff have also stopped wearing gold badges, they are randomly given out with meals. Shame that because my children loved spotting a gold badge on staff, they used to get really excited if they spotted one. I think that the staff enjoyed it as well because they would tease them and offer the children a different badge just to see their reaction to it!
