New User. Reclaiming PPI with Natwest

Hello everybody. This is my 1st post so please be kind!!!
I have done a bit of reading through several posts on here but couldn't find the answer to my question so thought i best ask myself. I took a loan out with Natwest about 5-6 years ago and at the time I am sure I was given the option of taking out PPI which I did, I have always taken out insurance on any loan I have had in the past so this time wouldn't have been any different. Obviously I now realise that if you shop around you can get PPI separatly a lot cheaper but at the time I didn't realise. Therefore, seeing as though I actually asked for the PPI at the time does this mean I can't then claim anything on it?

You can claim on the policy if you suffer a claimable event (illness, injury or redundancy preventing you working, depending on the policy).
What an insurer chooses to charge for a policy is simply a commercial decision and the fact that somebody else charges less is no ground for complaint although a single premium added to the loan so that interest is charged on it might be.0
