After saving long and hard to get a boat for the family I finally settled on buying one.
The boat looked terrific advertised on ebay as a classified listing with all the trimmings and a new reconditioned engine just fitted, I contacted the seller and went down with my hard earned.
I got it home to Glasgow and on the first run out on Loch Lomond the engine blew... the main bearings basically collapsed.
The seller is trying to blame the mech who fitted the new engine and wants me to take it up with him. They suggested I send the engine down to them 800 miles so they can decide if it was their fault or not. Seems a bit biased to me.
What are my rights and can anyone recommend a solicitor who will not cost the earth to take this to the next stage. They are becoming abnoxious and unreasonable.
FYI - I paid £7500 for the boat and the cost of a replacement engine is in the region of £5000 :-(
Best wishes,
Stan

I suggest heading over to the eBay board
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
