How to collect together guests photos?

Hi, We have just been to a family wedding and I have hundreds of photos. I want to put them on a site and get our friends/family to add theirs too so everyone can view them and it is all done beofre the happy couple come back off of honey moon.
I just tried to put them on flickr but I have too many photo's to load in one month.
There seems to be sites for wedding photos but I have never heard of any of them beofre.
Can anyone reccommend one?

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)

  • There's also photobucket - I've never used this but I think it's like flickr??

Another idea would be to create a photobox account and give everyone the login details. It will store the pictures , make it easy to print and edit, and you can order a CD of all the pics if you want

Facebook might be a good idea if you create an event and just invite certain people, making the rest closed to everyone else.

Just a thought though, but I would HATE photos of me put online without me looking first, I wouldn't put pics of guests or children on either, if everyone is ok though and doesn't mind, then lovely idea.

I often use Facebook to share photos. I set the album privacy so that only I can see it, then I use the link you find at the foot of the page. That allows non FB users to see the album too. All people can see is the album, they can't get to anything else on your FB page (unless of course they're friends on there anyway)

I was thinking more about the photos and guests being in the background. I wouldn't want any of myself in the background at a wedding being uploaded without knowing and definitely any of my daughter.

But these days how the hell do you guarantee it? Many photographers go for reportage style of photography and publish a lot of their portfolio on websites, and there may be people in backgrounds that they couldn't possibly check for all

I guess if the guests pretty much know each other they'd ask to be left out. I was a guest at a wedding last year and took a lot of photos. One other guest there (a friend of mine too) is in a relationship with a guy, with both having gone through messy divorces and she expressly asked me not to put any pics with the two of them in as it could end up causing hell with either/both of their exes
  • I went to a wedding in July and they had a really good idea, that Im going to pinch they placed a large box of cds on a table and a note on each one asking could people upload their memory cards of their wedding day onto the cd and then please return it to them, They had specifically requested for no photographs on facebook xx
