Looking increasing likely that carphone warehouse has struck a deal with HP and bought all the pre-3's and remaining touchpads. (Well thats what it looks like judging by all their new contracts suddenly availible with the pre-3, and the other contracts where you get a free touchpad.)“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Just watched a tuturial on the pre-3. Looks good and also has this very sexy (in a geeky sorta way) feature where if you place the mobile on top of the touchpad screen, all data is instantly transferred. I like, shame all the touchpads are like gold dust!November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post.

I agree, it does seem like a good device, and I was really looking for a physical QWERTY device as I'm fed up with using on-screen keyboards -- and at around £100 this would have been perfect. But for £299? For that price I'd rather have a HTC Desire Z or even a Blackberry Torch.0 -

Thanks, now I really want both and have neither!!! Wonder if there'll be a free touchpad with the pre 3 deal anywhere? I keep hearing about the 'free' touchpad deals but can't see anything about it on CPW. Can anybody help?0 -

Me too. Got a samsung tocco light that is driving me nuts at the moment. I'd love a htc desire or something just as geeky, but Mr Natwest....he say no. Well, I'm not interested in taking out another contract (I'm guessing that's what they are for). But I'll keep checking back anyway...
I don't think they expect to sell 850 of them on contract. They'll probably come sim-free soon enough. The TouchPad is on its way back soon too, there's quite a lot of them waiting.0 -

Touchscreen phones maybe OK for people with small fingers but hopeless for me. I took an HTC Desire S out on 24 month contract 2 weeks ago and find texting difficult, even when I turn the phone on its side which enlarges the keyboard I'm still overlapping the surrounding keys. Its not like I have fingers like King Kong or Ben Grimm ( from Fantastic Four). I'd go back to a push button keypad phone in a minute, stuck with the HTC unless I find a more suitable phone and sell the HTC on.0
