Thank you for this - I was out this afternoon and by time I caught up on here I had missed Uruk Hai Army at Toysrus - which is on DS list this year. So thank you for this. I have just got it from Amazon with free p & p too. :T

    Remember shoppers,
Do not spend more than you can afford and do not buy things that you do not need.

To say that a toy reduced from say £200 to £100 looks great, but what do you get for your money, Lego RRP is rather expensive for what you get, and one could say that it is still overpriced with a 50% off.

Fight the temptation in sales and special offers and spend the money you already have wisely. Never buy a special offer using a credit card unless you have calculated the added interest cost.

Apart from that middle paragraph I agree wholeheartedly!
Lego lasts for years and years and is well worth it. Yes, it isn't cheap but it brings me joy :o and entertains my children. It will ultimately entertain my grandchildren.
(You may be on the wrong thread by the way;))

Lol I never worry bout buying things I don't need and always spend extra in sales :D

As for the lego, the rrp is not overpriced by 50%. You pay for the quality. If your happy buying some megabloks crap that barely holds together after built once thats fine, but like another poster said Lego lasts for years and holds it value better than any other toy.

Come on man open up the purse strings this xmas :T

  • Hi,
Tesco have some good deals on Lego at the moment. Got an alert from amazon saying hulk helicarrier breakout was reduced to £37.49 this morning, checked with Tesco to see if it was back in stock there so I could use clubcard vouchers and it is but was £38.49 Site wasn't working so came back to order and they've dropped it to £37.49. Also got Lego vehicles and more for £18. These were the last 2 bits of Lego I had to buy so not sure how prices for other bits hold up. It does seem they're tracking and matching Amazon prices though (might be old news but I didn't know) and their stock always lasts longer (Amazon is back up to £50 again for Hulk now!).

Not checked if this has already been mentioned. Argos are doing the Lego Advent Calendars as part of their 3 for 2 toy deal as well.

Argos are doing the Lego Advent Calendars as part of their 3 for 2 toy deal.

So if you buy three it works out...

    £13.32ea City (£39.98 for 3!)
    £13.32ea Friends (£39.98 for 3!)
    £16.66ea Star Wars (£49.98 for 3!)

In store only, but you can reserve for store pick-up - it says the discount will be applied at the store. Interested if anyone seen them cheaper?

I have reserved and will collect them Tuesday.

Also worth noting that the Argos deal seems to show last years Lego City Calendar, but I believe they are selling the recent firemen one!

I hope I have posted my first deal correctly? Tips welcome ;)
