    Just got the Lego City Police Station for £47.99 delivered. It's currently £59.99 on Smythstoys.com and they have a further 20% taken off at checkout so £47.99. I'm well chuffed as ds wanted this for Christmas but no way was I paying 70 odd pounds for it. Hope this helps someone :)

    I'm looking for the cheapest Ice Planet Hoth set with the Wampa etc, not the board game but the Lego set.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    This is another case of rip of Britain

    ToysRus.com = $94.99 (+ on 3 for 2)
    ToysRus.co.uk = £99.99 (+free mini anikin pod)

    ($94.99 = £58.36 + VAT = £70.04)

    EDIT: Wrong Set? above is for Lego Star Wars Hoth Echo Base 7879
  • I'm confused.
    Lego Star Wars Hoth Echo Base (7879) - doesn't have wampa
    Lego Star Wars Hoth Wampa Cave (8089) - does have wampa

    I'd rather have free healthcare than cheap Lego - and I REALLY love Lego!! ;)

    Free health care in the UK (at the moment anyway) is provided by the government and supposedly paid for by National Insurance, not VAT.

    Furthermore it's companies and not government taxes that are ripping off UK consumers. Amazon for example offers cheap Lego sets in the UK, but a lot more sets are cheaper on Amazon Italy (even with Italian 21% VAT)

    I got the wrong set, the one you are after is £24.99 from ToysRus UK and includes a free mini Lego pod toy.

  • Lego Friends sets are 20% off at Smyths - also, if you spend £20 on Lego Friends, you get a free pencil case set worth £4.99. I can't see this offer online, but I got it instore this morning at the Barnsley store. The set includes a pencil case, pencils, mini notepad, sharpener and rubber.
  • http://www.brickset.com/ is a good site to see the rrp of Lego sets, it shows the US price as well, which is often the same in $ as we pay in £! US tax is usually 7-8% (varies by state) compared to our 20%, but doesn't account for all the difference! Brickset also has a link to discounted Lego on Amazon, so worth checking regularly.
