In fact tescos seem to have a lot of lego items much cheaper than Ive seen them elsewhere

I got http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-Ninjago-2259-Skull-Motorbike/dp/B0042HOTOA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347620105&sr=8-1 from a charity shop for 50p, the only things missing are the pieces to make up the people - can I buy these seperate anywhere?

Have a look here, and here. You'll need to register, then you buy the items and wait for the seller to invoice you; you then paypal the money to them. HTH!
