Whereabouts in the shop was it? (Sorry to bombard you with questions but I was in there this afternoon and couldn't find them!!) Was it with toys or homewares? xx

Oh and for those looking on the website, I also had a look on there this morning and couldn't find it :(

Hi, I think it was in the last aisle, half way down by all the Cars 2 and Toy Story toys. Good luck!!! You could always check Allerton Rd or Aigburth Rd?

Argos have a couple of reduced sets - fire truck with boat and city bank. The bank was vastly overpriced to start with - a bit like the Marina but ok at this price as you can get a further discount / extra small set as below.

The bank is £29.99, so just under the £30 spend needed to get £5 voucher. Add either a Lego mini figure series 5 at £1.99 or the Fire ATV for £3.99 to get the £5 card.

The fire truck is £23.99, add something like the Police Patrol at £7.99 to get your £5 card.

When reserving online, if buying both sets, put them on separate reservations - then you can use the £5 from the first payment against your second one! And you've still got a £5 gift card to use by the 14th April after paying for the second order (you could buy another Lego item there and then, there's no minimum spend to use the gift card).

**You must pay at the till to get the £5 card, you can't get it at the self serve till instore afaik.**

Slowly typing this on my iPod, so not going to attempt any links to the items on the Argos website - I'm sure someone will helpfully add them later for all to see.

Picked up a few bargains in Argos today - got the advent calendar for £11.99 - cheapest I've seen it. Got 3 for nephews/godson for next Christmas. They aren't available everywhere though, but got these in the Taunton store. Also spied the Lego Passenger Train down to £75 - around 15 cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere. So picked that one up too, making it 70 after using the £5 voucher. There will be one very happy little boy on his birthday next month! The lego airport is also £54.99 (next cheapest was 57.99 on amazon). Good deals if you can find in stock nearby!
  • Been trying to get an advent calendar - I think Taunton and Reading were about the only two places left with stock since December, and I'm nowhere near either.
  • Big thank you to everyone who posts on this thread. I managed to get a space shuttle at John Lewis today (last one on the shelf) so well chuffed!
    MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 2020

  • You need to try the www.icheckstock.co.uk thing. It checks argos stock. There seems to be an advent calendar (lego city) in Oxford according to it but that's as far as i've got.
