Claim for PPI

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this site and I too am going through the process of trying to reclaim the PPI that was mis-sold to me.
I followed the advice on the PPI section of this site and sent off my first letter. HSBC didn't respond for quite a while. My letter was dated 10 June 2011 and I received their letter dated August 3 2011.
The letter states....
"under normal circumstances, the request you have made under section 77 of the consumer credit act 1974 is not valid and HSBC has no obligation to provide the documentation you seek...."
they go on to say the following...
"However, we have assumed that your request for information is likely to be inrelation to obtaining details of the Payment Protection Insurance that you held with HSBC"
The letter does go on. They also enclosed a PPI information table showing details of the loans I had with them which are all now closed, one of which only recently.
Anyway, to cut a long story short...I cannot continue with the next stage..which I believe is filing out the PPI questionnaire to send to them, as HSBC have not provided me with the account numbers for my loans that the questionnaire requires. They have only supplied me with the loan agreement numbers. I am guessing I need to get back to my bank as request this information that they have omitted?
Has anyone got to this stage and faced the same issue?
Help is much appreciated
Thanks

As you now have the loan agreement numbers, I would suggest using those. Clearly they've been able to trace you on their records in order to give you the list in the first place, so matching your complaint to the correct loan shouldn't present any problems.0
