so the food plus the bottles of wine cost £8.50 or more than that

If you buy 6 meals, its £60, less £9 on the wine offer = £51.

    £51 ÷ 6 = £8.50 per meal.

I bought 4 meals and two extra bottles of wine for £43. 4 meals would have cost £40. My two extra bottles of wine cost £3, or £1.50 per bottle.

Hope this clarifies it for you?

  • The chicken I bought said £6.97 as its actual price and was quite large, (fed 3 of us plus enough for sandwiches next day). Bloody tasty too.
went for the Rosti and the strawb tarts, excellent value.

Well, I suppose it's a sign of the times - the chicken was 'small' not the usual medium-size.

I took my mum with me this time and after a little rumage around the chickens found her an £8 nearly 2kg rotesserie chicken. Maybe its different stores? x

I never get the rotisserie chickens and my store didn't have them anyway. I certainly got the biggest one there was, so I'm sure they do different ranges in different stores.
