British gas - websaver 12

I am with British gas and have their websaver 12 package. I received a letter stating that there will be an increase of 16% for electricity and an increase of 18% for gas. This however would not affect me if I was on a fixed price tariff. Would it be best to switch to the price promise March 2013?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Its a bit of a gamble whichever way you go. Price promise is 5% more expensive than the new August 18th standard rates.
Websaver 12 is 6% cheaper than the standard tier 2 rates, but of course is variable.
So simplistically you'll be paying a premiuim of around 10% to fix, if rates go up more than that over the period you'll save assuming the rate increase is sooner rather than later. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks for the explanation. I think I will gamble and stay with the Websaver 12.0
