Help - another question about the Reading Festival!

My son and friends (first time festival goers) are going down today. They have a ton of stuff to lug around, and he's been told that the person who is driving them (who isn't staying - literally just being taxi) will not be able to access the car park to help them unload and lug. He will have to literally dump them and their gear at a drop off place and go.
Is this correct - or will they be able to use a car park (which presumably is going to be close-ish to the camping site - relatively speaking!) and help them get their kit to their camping spot? And will this be the same at pick up time on Monday?

i think they will have to drop the stuff off where you said as i know with Leeds fest (i steward with oxfam) the only people who get there with cars are those that are staying the whole weekend as they have to pay to park. Also make sure they know which campsite there going to as the site is huge!:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Thank you - the two that I ended up taking today were also taking tents and "stuff" for others who are arriving tomorrow, so it wasn't just their own stuff they were taking. However, lucky for them I wasn't at work today, because they were convinced that four lanky teens plus all their equipment PLUS the stuff they are taking for tomorrow's arrivals, were going to fit into one of the dad's cars, despite me telling them for the past week that there was no way!
The other dad's car turned out to be a Peugeot 207 :rotfl:. Even so, it was a bit of a tight fit in the two cars (mine's a Ford Focus).
But as it happened, it wasn't too bad. We dropped them off at the "G" drop off point and they only had about a 20 minute walk. Despite being adamant that he didn't want to take my trundle truck with him, I put it into the car and had a definite "I told you so" moment when they realised that carrying all that stuff would have been nigh on impossible. Son 0 - Mum 2.
I've had a phone call and they've got their 15 tents all pitched and they're "just chilling" and looking forward to the activities - if not the rotten weather that's been forecast. Hey ho - it's all part of the festival experience!0
