When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning gang! :hello: Wednesday yay!!!:dance::dance: we're almost through the worst of it guys! Roll on the 3 day weekend _party_ :rotfl:

so where am I today?
  • brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores
  • read martin's email - think I'm gonna go and investigate some of the cheap perfumes next time I'm in town ;)
  • check banking
  • take note of mileage
  • go to cinema with oh tonight - orange wednesday of course! Nip into town & get snacks before film ;)
  • other than cinema & snacks not spend any money
  • wii fit this evening
lame as it is its all I can think of/have time to do! Happy Wednesday y'all :D

Hi candy just thinking as I was reading your post that maybe eating in the canteen is scuppering your WW? I know since I've been doing it I've been making my own to ensure I stay in my points? hths x

Hi Determined - Because I am allowed a gazillion points per day, I am able to make sensible points choices. This morning I ate porridge with a tsp of jam - I am guessing 8 points in total.......despite craving a bacon sandwich! (In truth, I can have 52 points per day so not quite the gazillion!) :-)

    Morning all!
Another lovely day here - I picked up a little free map yesterday in the library with local "urban" walks all less than an hour. So I'm off in a minute to try one out with the dog while the weather is good.:T Will report how it goes later.

I decided last night that I have to be more proactive with getting out and being sociable now exOH is gone - can't turn into a hermit and it would be very easy to do so - so I've texted a work friend that asked me to meet up, have decided to rejoin fat club and texted the lady so I can't back out and am looking at exercise classes to join on a weekend.:rotfl:

    The list for today...
    • Weighed this morning and have lost 1lb of the podge put on during the recent drama:j
    • Walk dog lots starting with the new one armed with a free map done, enjoyed it
    • Write 5 GCSE biology lessons - I'll be the most organised ever this term;) internet went down so went to cinema instead with free ticket
    • All food from stores - morrocan butterbeans and couscous for tea tonight done
    • Look into more sociable activities - maybe volunteering in the animal shelter done, applied online
    • Have a LSD done
    • Empty the hoover (the worst job!) nope
    • Start a mini shopping list for the weekend done
That's all I can think of for now - right better get the trainers on!

    Morning all

Thanks to DNMS for starting us off.

Well I had quite a productive day yesterday and have found a flat for me and DH to move it to. It was the first one I saw, quite impulsive for me. Looking forward to being together again, just the two of us. :D

    Today I will:
    • Check bank balances
    • Check surveys
    • Start comparing services for flat
    • Start new budget for living in new flat
    • Work out cheapest way to get to new job

    Have a good day everyone.
    xx
