    19 metres is a long wall to get the foundations wrong. Probably best to get professional advice and stop worrying about the price of bricks.

    If you've got mature trees and you're on a shrinkable clay subsoil a brickwall really isn't the way to go. It will cost you a fortune in excavations and concrete alone.

    I'd recommend a fence. Even one of those ugly pre-cast concrete panel ones would be a fraction of the price of a wall.
