Need some advice

I have a buyer claiming her item hasn't reached her.

However my tracking from RM says it has been, 2 days after I posted it.

I'm not sure really what to do?

I had problems with this buyer as they took over a week to pay for this BIN item

I guess you have replied and gave the tracking information which proves the item has been delivered and signed for?

If the buyer opens an ebay / paypal claim then you will be asked to supply the tracking number which you have so the buyer won't win the case.

  • Are her eBay and Paypal addresses the same?

I would add the tracking number to her eBay item if you haven't already and then message her that you have.

Yuppers. It was the first thing I checked BEFORE sending it.

I have given her the tracking number, to say they have delivered it.

I will add the tracking to the thing thanks.

Slightly worried that she would leave neg feedback as I'm 100%, but glad she wont win the case,

You have the tracking number and can prove the item has been delivered. If the buyer does leave neg feedback then contact eBay as they will remove the feedback.

I would think anyone trying to scam you would probably try it on something that was easier pickings than a signed-for item where they wouldn't win a dispute.

Tell them - politely - that it seems to have been delivered, ask them to look with a neighbour or in the bins or somewhere where packages might be put.

Chances are it might have been misdelivered or it's with someone else who signed for it in their absence, or it magically turns up but a seller should be professional and polite in this situation, not just fob someone off, ignore them or say to their face they are scamming or dare them to open a dispute. A bit of courtesy goes a long way.

Getting a neg won't be inevitable if you handle this in the right way. Handle it badly and you will IMO deserve a neg. You still have a responsibility to get the item to the buyer and it's worth holding to the spirit of this responsibility as well as the letter of it.

I haven't ignored her, Ive given her the tracking number to say it's been signed for, if she gets back to me I will suggest that maybe a neighbour has it or something as it isn't her name on the signed for thing on RM website. But it is the correct postcode.

I was already annoyed as she took a week to pay for a BIN item, with no commuication - I don't mind delays as long as I'm told/asked!

It would probably be best if you let her know the name of the person who signed for the item ASAP, rather than wait for her to get even more frustrated and annoyed about not having her item. She may know the person, if it's a neighbour, and can pop round to pick it up. I think the more helpful you are the less likely it is you will receive negative feedback. I've had a few buyers in the past who were nightmare customers but you need to do as much as you can to resolve this situation amicably otherwise you may find you may have no customers at all, once the odd few like this one start to hammer your feedback and stars down.

    OK, good. No problems.

My post was largely directed at the people whose response was basically "talk to the hand".

Thanks for your advice everyone, buyer thinks cleaner may have misplaced it. So hopefully she will find it and all will be fixed!
