Halogen or LED lights

I recently had two of the above fitted. They were dimmable and had them connected to a normal dimmer. I am not sure what happened but one stopped working after about an hour and the other lasted till the following morning. I have since been sent a new set and I am worried the same might happen again. I had by no means exceeded the total wattage of the dimmer. I was wondering whether or not to have the standard (which is an Mk one) changed to a dimmer specified for LED lighting.

You need to use a low load dimmer, a regular dimmer will force too much current to the bulbs, that why they will blow.
A search on Google for low load dimmer will give you plenty of options. But they will continue to blow until you replace your dimmer switch.0 -
