If you are Happy
then don't worry about it.

RussJK - unfortunately I didn't pay for the superior model, I paid for the one I got, the description were correct
Fair enough, sorry if I made you feel bad! Perhaps we should have asked for the URL.
Argos Outlet are bad for product descriptions, I've seen countless anomalies over time.0 -
I thought the pink/green/blue/white versions of Acer netbooks were called 'Happy' as opposed to their actual model number. e.g. the D255 in black is labelled D255-asdf, but in green is labelled Happy-asdf.
Is it the same spec as you were expecting? I can't quite work it out, as it seems from the first post that what you got looked the same as the picture, and had the same details as the website descriptionSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
When these Netbooks were first introduced I noted that they had Android 2.1 installed, dual booting with Windows 7 Starter.
So perhaps the Android installation is still there somewhere.
I don't think there is an actual 1GB RAM limitation in the BIOS or Motherboard. I think that it is just not 'user replaceable'.
Look here for a video guide.0 -
RussJK you haven't made me feel bad, don't worry. I tried to post a link last night but I think the post got rejected.
This is the strange thing between the models. The lower spec Happys and D255 look identical. I did a comparison check on the Acer website. I think my main quibble is that the listing isn't very clear. I think I've decided to stick with what I've bought as it looks like the higher spec model is more money anyway so it's not like I've been short changed. Thanks for helping me make my mind up, debating the topic has been really useful. Next time I won't buy stuff last minute.0 -
How about Android 2.1? Is it there as an option to boot in to it?0
-
Just opened the guides that came with and there is an option to boot into Android 2.1. I'm going to turn the machine on now and set everything up. Fingers crossed0
