Shampoo for Itchy Scalp

Now, i'm not sure I need shampoo as my hair is disappearing and I shave it every week or two anyway when the bits start growing back, so maybe anyone with little/no hair can advise that moisturising be the best way to look after your scalp or if their is a good shampoo to use?
I was reading up on using baby shampoo as a more gentle alternative to adult shampoo.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks

Itchy scalps are often due to something fungal. The traditional shampoo to use would be something like Head and Shoulders, or Vosene. You can also buy Nizoral which is the same kind of thing, but stronger. A natural remedy I have heard of is cider vinegar, but I haven't tried that, so can't vouch for its effectiveness.Shrinking my mortgage!

Tea Tree is supposed to be good, but some of the tea-tree shampoos are quite strong, so you might need to dilute it. Or I guess you could just use a drop or 2 of the oil, diluted?0

I have suffered with my scalp for years having tried so many different shampoos.
Bought this about a month ago and my scalp has never been so good - think it is actually normal now, I am so chuffed!

Not cheap but well worth it and lasts ages as you need a tiny amount.0 -
Hi
Body Shop 'ginger' shampoo is excellent for itchy scalps0 -
Thank you to all of you for your suggestions. I'll bookmark this thread and look at all your suggestions.
My GP today said because I have little hair she thinks I shoudl miss shampoo totally and just use a gentle shower gel like 'Simple'.0 -
I used to use a shampoo from Boots pharmacy counter, about £6 per bottle, for itchy scalps. Sorry, I can't remember the name.
However, for the last couple of months I have used the conditioner-only method, which I read about on MSE forums, here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2080877
This has been far more effective than the expensive shampoo.
Since there is no transition period, ie it works from the very first conditioner-only wash, it might be worth a try.0 -
That is an interesting read, thanks.
I have little hair and I shave it off every week/10 days again anyway, so i'd probably not need a shampoo, which my GP agreed with.
She suggested shower gel and moisturise, although the conditioner approach, if it's not harsh on skin, will be worth looking at.0 -
The conditioner-only method is very gentle on the skin. And its better if you use the really cheap own-brand conditioners, too!0

Thanks both of you, will check both methods/products out.
At the moment, washing my head twice a day is helping. Not sure that's a good long term solution although i'm not worried about the condition of my hair as I have little anyway and I shave that off. It's more my scalp I need to take care of.0
