I've always thought it was applicable to sales in your home inspite of this.. :huh:
EDIT: thats not correct, it doesn't matter if you invited them or whether they turned up unannounced, you still have the same rights.
Hate to disagree, but I did get the info direct from the Office of Fair Trading, to quote exactly:
"The Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) are the rules that
apply if you are selling products or services to consumers
without face-to-face contact, and where the consumer has
not had an opportunity to examine the goods before buying
or discuss the service in person. Examples of distance
selling include selling via: the internet, text message, phone
call, fax and interactive TV or mail order."
However FHTL's knowledge of consumer law is more up to date than my own (thank you!) - the Cancellation of Contracts made in a Consumer's Home or Place of Work etc Regulations 2008 would apply if the OP was a consumer.
Of course, as she was buying B2B then none of this is any help!0 -
