Hi all
A had some extended leave this year and had a crack at some of these survey sites as they seemed interesting and something to while away the hours. I joined this site and did a few surveys with them. However my circumstances have now changed and I am not in a position to do any further surveys for any sites. This website though is refusing to hand over the small balance it owes me because I am under the £15 limit. I have explained that I will no longer be taking part in a survey and will be shutting down the account but not before they hand over the dosh for the service I have provided them. They are not playing ball and I am interested in taking this further because despite the small balance I feel a principle is at stake here, a very fundamental one of getting paid fair money for fair work. They are totally refusing to be reasonable in this matter.
Has anyone else been in the same position with this company? Does anyone know more about the company? Has anyone had other problems with this company?
I'm feeling very taken advantage at the moment and am getting angrier and angrier at their lofty attitude.

I think all of these companies make it clear what is the minimum you can cash out. Presumably to keep their admin costs down.:heart2:I have a child with autism.:heart2:0

Yes they do. Which is fine. My quarrel comes from the fact that I want my account shut down but I still expect to have my money. They are not entitled to the information I gave them for free, that information was exchanged on the basis of receiving an "Honest Reward". I can appreciate that the pay out mechanism exists to help costs but I am not asking for a willy nilly refund, I am asking for the money due to me and then my account to be closed as I no longer wish to complete these surveys.
It is reasonable to expect this to be agreed to.0 -
When you signed up to the site you will have agreed to some terms and these terms usually say their is a minimum cash out value. To assume you should get your money outside of these terms just because you don't want to do anymore surveys is where you are probably going wrong.
Your best course of action would be to achieve the £15 minimum and then cash out.
Don't get angry about their attitude they are only enforcing rules that were clear when you agreed to complete surveys for them. This is not personal with you just a condition that you once agreed too to start the surveys and have now decided you don't accept.0 -
They're not getting anymore of my time because I don't think that the surveys are worth it. So therefore I will not be doing more surveys and from the rate I got them I'd still be waiting to get my £15 in 12 months.
Yes one agrees to the terms and conditions, and I am happy to abide by them but I now expect them to act reasonably and refund the small balance because my circumstances have changed. Just because there are terms and conditions does not make those terms and conditions automatically fair or reasonable.
Like I said, I understand the limit, and when I signed up it was in the honest belief that I would make use of that limit, but my circumstances have changed, the surveys were sparse and poor and now I am not prepared to walk away and let them have something for nothing. That is unfair.
My point is that they are being totally unreasonable, and won't come to an amicable agreement or even attempt to. There has been no effort at dialogue on their part.
The sum is very small, but the principle is not.0 -
I would imagine that having a minimum cash out would be fair and reasonable in the terms and conditions of a survey site.
I don't use the survey site named and have no experience of them - do you accumulate points or cash on the site?
Really the crux of the matter is that the survey site never offered to pay you a lower amount than £15 and so until you achieve that figure the work you agreed to complete for them was not worth anything to you. You are thinking of it as a percentage of £15 but as they don't pay like that you can't think like that. It's £15 or nothing.0 -
My issue is that I believe I have made a reasonable request. I signed up in the honest belief that I would hit the limit and have my money. I understand the reasons for the limit. But the surveys are poor and sparse and I am back in work now and have no time for such things. So I have asked for the money on the account to be refunded and the account closed as I will not be reaching that limit.
The quarrel is that they refuse to enter into a dialogue about a trifling sum of money that could have been refunded several times in the time it has taken to respond to my emails (even the poor responses they have made). They have point blank ignored a perfectly reasonable request. There will be no other claims on the account as I want it closed after I have received my money.
So the question is, is it right to deny me money I have earned for my time and my information now that I have made it quite clear I want to walk away?
I can't insist work pay me when it suits me, but I can reasonably expect them to settle the account once I leave them.
It is a reasonable expectation.0 -
I don't think it is a reasonable request as the T&Cs are stated quite clearly. All survey sites do the same. If you choose to close your account early than that is really up to you and not anything to do with the company.16 x Sanyo HIT 240w panels, 3.84kWp, south facing, 30 degree slope in the SW, 4.4 Eltek HE-t inverter installed 27/03/12

It is a reasonable expectation.
You are confusing completing surveys with a job, it is not a job it is not governed by employment law. It is covered by contract law, the same terms and conditions we have mentioned form this contract so I'm afraid however unreasonable you think the company are being they are only matching the level if expectation they gave you when you started the surveys. You ate walking away from the company before you have completed enough surveys to be able to cash out. You are therefore sacrificing your current balance as you are the one choosing not to complete your part of the deal to receive a payment.
I do not offer legal advice, I just think you should see that they would reward you if you met the minimum amount to cash out but your choice is not to make that amount and therefore you are not eligible to get a payment.
Good luck with any claim you do make against them.0 -
I am not confusing it with a job I was just using an analogy.
Yes it comes under contract law and therefore there is nothing stopping this company from responding favourably to a reasonable request to pay out the balance seeing as I am no longer in a position to complete their surveys.
There is also nothing stopping me from testing whether this particular T&C is an unfair one given the circumstances.
I believe I have made reasonable representations which have been completely rebuffed and dealt with in a high handed manner.
I also believe that I have handed over a service to them and that in the context of me being unable to complete further surveys then my request for a pay out is reasonable.0 -
For goodness sake stop whinging and let the pennies go.Nearly everyone else on this site who does surveys I bet would not expect to be paid if we dont reach the minimum payout which is clearly laid out in terms and conditions[unless they guarantee you x ammount of surveys].You probably didnt get many cos you werent working at the time either.I myself have stopped doing the dud sites that hardly pay losing a few hard earnt coppers or drag out til I get the first payment and then stop.
P.S. I have been paid over £230 in cash/vouchers this month from various sites so their are plenty out there worth while.0
