Real life MMD: Should I buy glasses from my friend?

  • I had an eye test with my local optician in the village. It was a bit pricy but I thought I was supporting a local business. I was not given a prescription and, when I returned to ask for one, was told that it would be taken care of when I purchased some specs. Because they looked very pricy and the choice was limited, I simply left it. To this day I do not have a prescription. I would suggest that the big businesses at least have to operate to a transparent code of conduct. Thank you Money Saving Expert for letting me know that Tesco do free eyes tests.
I suggest the writer's optician friend might be a bit of an intimidating optician if they make them feel nervous about not buying from them. My local optician made me feel a bit like that.

If your friend comments you tell her you didn't think she sold the brand you bought, that is why you didn't go to her.

I suppose that if one of you has to lie to the other then you are not quite as good friends as you thought.
It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.
