Good morning Moozie and lovely DFWs.
This is my first post in 2007 so I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Apologies that I have been missing for a few weeks, I have been on holiday with no internet access. I have missed you all and can't wait to get back on the straight and narrow after the excesses (food and money ) of the last few weeks.
I won't join in this week's challenge but I will be back with a vengeance next week.

Probably £1 today, if Orange have any of those little hugging figures in their shop.
Need shopping but have M&S vouchers. My ipod has died and APple quote £166.27 for a repair... mmm. It cost £200 new anyway?! Pfft. Where's my walkman?0 -
Morning all,
Right well I am back on the MSE wagon, I splurged a bit over xmas a new year (all within budget, I had £400 saved up for it!) but am back big time. Have pretty much moved into my OH's flat and we have had a chat about money, I think I may have got him on board too! Our dream is to buy a house in the country in 2 years and I think if we save hard now we might be able to do it without a mortgage. He has already been handing over all the supermarket receipts so I can update our spreadsheet (you know it's love when he adds an extra worksheet just for you.....)
Anyway, back to the matter in hand, I am going to spend £1 on lunch today and then £10 in Boots but this is from a pigsback voucher so is free really....
Oh and Rog, go go go!!Saving for an early retirement!0 -
poorbutrich wrote:An NSD for sure! Yesterday's NSD turned into £17 in the pub after words with my housemate who thinks that turning the TV off when it's not being used is bad for the set!
Aw PBR sorry to see that the issues with the housemates are continuing. I feel for you xxLeason learnt :beer:0 -

rog2 wrote:Hi Moozie - I'm also hoping for a NSD today. I have a bit of a dilemma though, and I would welcome your 'words of wisdom'. My 2 Italian Sisters in Law are going back on Wednesday - they have bought so much 'stuff' in the sales that they are way over their baggage allowance, and it could cost them over £100 each in excess baggage.
They have offered to pay for a ticket for me (£56) as this will be cheaper (Quite an MSE solution, I suppose) and the luggage will 'even out' a bit.
Whilst I would LOVE a few days in Italy, and would see the In-Laws, I am trying to justify going. It won't cost me anything as accomadation, food will be free, but I don't like to 'freeload'.
What should I do?

Hey rog2
I can see why you have a dilemma on this, I know where you are coming from. I think as your sisters in law have asked you to go over and save them money by doing so, you have an obligation to the MSE community to help them out!
You will be staying with your wife's family which is your family really and therefore, that's not 'freeloading' at all - it is precious time that you will enjoy and I am sure Mrs rog2 will love seeing her folks - another reason to go.
So that's setled then. One question though, what's £20 in euro??? Better start working it out - as well as finding out about internet access from Italia
