When I got the letter from MBMA in Jan it said that all reduced payments had to be received by them before the 3rd of the month. As my DMP is with CCCS they get paid on 25th of the month along with all my other creditors and so far this has been fine.

The other day I got a long convoluted letter from them saying that they have now removed the arrears from showing on my account as we have come to an agreement for reduced payments and that as long as I continue to pay that amount on time each month no further action will be taken, but if my payments were late or I missed one the whole balance would become immediately payable.

BUT I have just opened my statement for this month and it says that my payment has to be with them by the 24th April. Obviously it won't be because cccs only pay out on 25th of each month. MBNA know this so why have they changed my payment date.

I don't know what to do now, I don't want to talk to the trained monkeys at MBNA because all they will do is try to get me to make a payment to them there and then, it's all they ever do.

Are MBNA moving the goal posts to purposely try to catch me out, are they bound to stick to the first agreement of 3rd of the month payment date?

I've just received a letter from MBNA about my DMP, they have accepted the reduced payments, stopped fees and interest for 12 months and without a single phone call or harassing letter!

    :D

Thats not fair!!! Why did the rest of us get lumbered with the tele-marketer from hell??

I think you should give my your phone number, so I can phone you up and abuse you. There are some things in life that you should not miss out on! :rotfl:

After a long struggle MBNA have accepted my (self managed) DMP payment proposal/frozen interest and will review in 12 months time. They just suddenly changed from objectionable to good guys overnight - quite strange bt welcome.
Lloyds-TSB are still being awful and I've gone down the line of an official complaint prior to FS Ombudsman - I've catually had two acknowledgents of my complaint from two different people at Lloyds-TSB but in the same department!! Sums them up really!! They still haven't banked cheques I've sent them in the past two months either. C'est la vie.

I didn't get away that easily. My OP was back in Jan and even though they did agree to reduced payments etc I have still had some nasty calls from them. I just added to this thread with my latest MBNA dilema :(

    I never date check!!!!! :o (sorry - I won't call you then!)

But, I think that you are going to have to speak to the trained monkeys or get CCCS to do it.

I have had this with 2 wo have accepted my plan. I have told them payments will be ont he 1st May - they want 25th March - OH doesn't get paid until the 28th, so I have written to them to tell them tough luck (basically).

I won't call them, as I will get angry and I have enough going on in my life right now that I can't afford to get cross and them to get nasty back!

well dont trust MBNA as far as u can throw them. They accepted my DMP etc etc with CCCS,however 6 months down the line i have a so called manager from MBNA,who rung me two weeks ago, demanded i pay them an extra 15 pounds a month. When i said im with the CCCS and please comminicate with them,he basicaly said i shouldnt listen to what the CCCS say,and i have eight days to think about things,or else.and now the phone calls have started again.........So like i say,6 months down the line, they start becoming aggresive again.

TBH I dont get any of this anymore - I changed my phone number last year. Its another reason I wont call and write only, incase I forget to 141 when I dial and they get my number.

Its great - every (almost) call is for me. And they are all nice!
