House Alarm System - How much?

Hello, I've recently moved into my own place and the house has a house alarm system - box on outside of house, interface by front door with number input and arm/disarm, as well as two sensros (these two sensors appear to work)
However, lady who previously owned the house doesn't know the code. There is a number to ring on the interface box, and I was going to ring them and ask them to look at the alarm system.
Worst case scenario and the whole thing needs replacing, what will I be looking to pay for a new alarm system to be installed? I'm based in Liverpool, if that makes any difference?!
Thanks.

Well if the cables going to the siren and sensors are ok you could just replace the main unit. Around the £100-£150 parts and labour mark. Full installation of a wired system your looking at £400-500 supply and fitted. Its a pain running all the cables. A cheaper option would be a wireless system. Can get the kit for around £150-£200 and fitting would be around £80
I'd try ring the manufacturer first. They might be able to give you a engineer code to reset the unit.
I'm based in St.helens if you want a proper quote. Best to get at least 3.0
