hi all i know nothing about insurance so was wondering if someone could help with any information..my husband is a coach in a local kids boxing club and was just informed by the boss that after 7 years of paying insurance for the club the insurance company has told them that the insurance has been cancelled as they (the insurance company) have found out that the club was always insured by the owners of the building,,(in this case it is a local chapel) who own the building the club leases it of them..the "boss"asked the insurance company if thats the case do we get back all the money we paid over the years to which the reply was "sorry we dont work like that" and ended the conversation...my husband and coaches and children do a lot of hard work and fund raising every year to try and get funds and im annoyed to think they.ve been paying all that money for nothing. Sorry if im going on bout this..but would anyone know is there anyway to recoup this money or is it a lost cause (as insurance company said)...sheeesh fingers are sore now lol thanks if youve read all this or replyed.:T

So the Insurance was just for the Buildings and nothing else ?
If there has been duplicate Buildings Insurance and one company could not have provided cover anyway, they would normally refund the premiums. You would need to make a complaint if they have refused and pass it to the FOS if necessary. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
i think the insurance was building ,,contents and personal (as its children 7-16) incase anyone got hurt..as far as i know the owners of the building (the chapel) have been insuring the club with the same as above but with a different insurance company..thats how "boss" found out when is rang him out of the blue to state that they were already insured..so how come im wondering did they only find out after 7 years of wasted premiums :eek:0
