wow - I am in the minority, I am rubbish and always have been with money, I live too much in the moment and don't plan so my husband does it. I'm so bad the bank manager called me in when I was young and cut up my debit card - I have never improved and if I have £10 will spend £10 and justify it...!
I fully support Martins finance for schools (I sent the link to the school myself ) as I would benefited back then and perhaps not got a credit card at 18 (bribed by my Company to sweeten going from weekly to monthly paid) and maxed out the £300 in two weeks (1985) I want better planning for my girls as one shows the same tendencies as me even though I try to be responsible - I want her to enjoy her money but budget.:j

I reckon most of those doing the poll are the financially savvy ones, as they are are reading your posts, Martin! You didn't have the answer that really fit my other half and me. I choose financial products and make the basic monthly budget. We discuss and choose together when it comes to the bigger spending. He does check prices! ;)

    Wow, most biased vote ever!

Obviously the majority of people are the ones who make the decisions - Do you expect the people who don't make decisions to be the viewing public on MSE?

'We do it all together' was the closest to what we actually do - boyfriend and I have a shared account for the rent and bills and for food shopping, and we chose our bill suppliers together based on the ones who came up best on comparison sites, but beyond that it's all done individually in terms of things like personal current accounts and ISAs/savings accounts.

I keep a track of what we're spending & how much money we have spare. Then I discuss with my wife what we should do. Thankfully we're both pretty good with money though I have a fascination with tracking as much of it as possible...

I suppose I am the administrator but we are both on the ruling council, so I picked that we both do it.

Woman - partner/family and I do it all.

I do discuss things with hubby though and we discuss any larger purchases, but he just has no interest in the day to day stuff. I also leave enough of a paper trail so that should anything happen to me there are lists of who gets paid/how much etc and which accounts the money is in.

I am a happily married man with a wife who "wears the trousers". She is in complete control of our finances as she should be. As the old saying goes "A woman's place is in charge, a man's place is over her knee!"
