Switching from npower to EDF- can I get my credit back?

Hello

I have never switched my energy supplier before, and have previously just gone with what my landlord reccomended (Npower!!!).

My question- I am in the process of switching my supplier to EDF, but my npower account is £60 in credit.

Can I claim this back from Npower??

I wanted to ask here first- I can only imagine what fun I'm going to have calling Npower- and then suffering the onslaught of cold calling to get me back as a customer.

Perhaps without realising it you have asked an incredibly difficult question.

In due course Edf will ask you for opening reads which Edf will send to NPower who will produce a closing bill based on the reads supplied by Edf.

You need to wait for that before you can be sure you will have a closing credit balance. It's *possible* that an NPower "deferred discount" already discounted in your monthly payments will be charged back to your account.

Whatever, you do not need to "claim". In due course a final bill will be produced and settled one way or the other.

In other words OP, It's your money but you'll have to wait until all accounts have been settled before you get anything back.

I know I would be pretty naive to think i would get anything off npower any time soon......
