These are resources deployed to SELL and service insurance CLAIMS, not to make the odd change of address :)

Wait until it gets to "someone has to pay for the toilet rolls" arguement.

Some may double up but some do not. Either way, they have to allocate extra resources to cater for it. Who is going to pay for them?

If it's down to resources, costed at £50 for 2 minutes, that's a £1500 an hour resource.
    £3.12 million a year.
    Not bad.

even better at £55, that's £3.432 million of resource they're charging for.
£312,000 extra, Not bad for only a fiver more.

What about the phone calls that take 30 minutes and require referring to back office? A fixed admin charge covers the 2 minute jobs and the 2 hour jobs.

To suggest all enquiries take two minutes is a bit cheeky.

Makes no odds to the infrasturcture you listed. As Tom Pickering said, you need all those to sell the insurance in the first place.
All you need is another employee answering another phone, so on mimimum wage, what's that, £14k off the £3.4 million. Or whatever it costs to add another worker if it's outsourced to India.
  • Hi, Ive just got my home insurance renewal quote. Can anyone tell me if I can go to that insurance provider as a new customer? Ive checked online & as a new customer my quote is £100 cheaper!

Phone them...they'll possibly match the new customer price.
