Inaccurate Land Registry Plan

Hi, quick query. How important is it that the building outlines on the Land Registry plans are accurate? The land outlines are right but the building outline doesn't include an extension built in 1982. If it should be accurate how do we go about getting it updated?

The building outline is irrelevant, it is the land outline which matters. The building outline should ideally be correct at the time the title plan is drawn up, but it happens all the time that extensions are built and buildings demolished - the title plan is not changed because it is too much effort - and a process for updating the plans would just be more scope for error and even fraud to enter the system.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I agree.
Even the land outline (red edging on title plan, based only on OS) is not guaranteed; HMLR uses the 'General Boundaries' rule.0
