Reasonable amount of time to give me an invoice

I live opposite a main junction and reversed out of my drive and nudged a blokes car. I've paid for my light to be repaired and told him to send me an invoice for his small amount of work (he told me the estimate was c.£200). This was in April 2011...I've received nothing. He rang a few weeks ago and said he was going to send another copy (our house is opposite his place of work) as he'd sent it to the wrong address.
Given the above, I'm wondering how much longer I need to wait and if I finally ever do see an invoice, what should I do? Have I been too generous in giving him this long? I'm wondering if he's just expecting me to pay him the money without sight of anything to validate the amount?

6 Years...........
And has he has the potential to drop you in it up to your nose with the insurance company I would keep the bravado quite firmly under wraps.
If he goes to your insurance, via his insurance, boy are you in trouble.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
What bravado and what trouble? My insurance company know as I reported it on the day...All I wanted to know is how long to wait for the guy to show me an invoice for the repairs...He was the one that didn't want to go through the insurance.0

He has 6 years to claim anything owed.
Did he report the matter to his insurance company, if he didnt, then he could be in trouble, since you reported it, his number will be on the
national data base, when or if he ever makes a claim your number wil flag up and ...............he'll be in trouble, possibly big trouble
Maybe mention it to him.............make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
