HSBC - no reply

It's been over 12 weeks now since I put in my claim to HSBC and apart from their standard reply on 18th June, I've heard nothing. !
What I would really like to know is what would happen if I just cancelled the ppi direct debit with my bank without telling HSBC ?
I know HSBC would probably send me a new direct debit instruction, but could they also ask for repayment of the loan this ppi covers even though I believe the ppi was missold to me ?
Incidentally I have since found out the ppi insurance would not pay out anyway as I get 6 months full pay, then 6 months half pay from my employer in the event of illness - something that I pointed out to HSBC at the time I took out the loan and ppi insurance

    Hi there

Did they state about the extra time?
The main of the banks are given 16 weeks due to backlogs now, but otherwise any problems, contact the CEO below.

I am not sure in regards of the DD, but personally I would stick this out now and continue to pay in case it jeopardises your reclaim, where if you succeed they should then remove the ppi anyway and give a lower monthly repayment.

    Good luck.
