Hi
I need some help before I phone insurance back for round 2!!!
My husband had 3 points on his licence then in June got 3 more and so I phoned to tell them as honesty is the best policy and all that?!
They said as his policy doesn't renew until March 12 then that is fine, It will be recalculated then however....
As he is a named driver on my policy it will go on mone straight away and to the cost of £360!!!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me why this is I just don't get it, I've now had to take him off my policy as paying £86 a month when I have 9+ years no claims is a total disgrace.
My husbands policy renews in march and he paid in full this year, Mine renewed the beginning of July and I have paid monthly.
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks in advance

He got the points in June, you renewed in July and didn't declare the points as you should have.0

He has been identified as a higher risk driver. Insurance is priced on risk. So, an increase in premium is to be expected. If you are with a insurer that cherry picks then you should expect the premium jump to be quite large.
Some providers require you to tell them straight away. Others are prepared to wait until renewal. Insurance is just like any retail product. Different ones offer different features, terms and requirements.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
