juat had my bathroom and kitchen tiled
tiler has left all streaks on intersecting ceilings, and lumpy bits from the grout and adhesive.
tiler assures me this is normal and will just need sanding, cleaning and repainting (wall was already newly painted!!!)
The plasterer and carpenter both think this is a poor show and should have been less messy/ or cleared up at the time before setting
Who is right? Just sick of tradesmen tbh at the mo

The others are more right than the tiler. He really should not be leaving lumps of grout and in particular adhesive on skirting boards and ceilings. Should have cleaned better before setting and taken more care.
Grouting is a messy job though, and some streaking and residue is to some degree not unexpected. Lumps are in my book unacceptable for a pro tiler though. The residue may well buff off with a soft cloth. The lumps wont.0 -
Im a trademan myself, tilers should always leave all grouting clean and smooth. Any mess on paint work should be cleaned off by the tiler as soon as its done to stop it staining in which it would need re-painting. I can understand why some people get annoyed with tradesmen some of them just dont want to know. =/
Also tilers should always buff the tiles with a soft cloth before leaving this get rid of any left over grout on the tiles.0 -
He's not a proper tiler IMHO and has no pride in his work. Sloppy.

did you go into tiling after your singing career ended? As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.0
