New mobile is very slow on the internet, help needed!

I was advised to try out the Techie people for help, so here I am.

I just bought a new Rio mobile and the internet access is a joke. I am not expecting it to be super fast (It is only 2g afterall) but surely it shouldn't take nearly 3mins to load one wap page with a few icons on it and a tiny bit of text? I've also tried Opera, which is better but still very slow. I've updated the settings to use the internet and made sure my viewing settings are on 'low' quality for images. Nothing seems to help.

Considering the Rio is marketed as an internet phone, this is seems a bit strange for it to be like this. I've had a 2g before on wap and it was a heck of a lot faster (on the same network as well)

Can anything be done to speed it up?

If you are on Orange, change network.

You can take it back !

If not you might be in a bad reception area.

Does the Rio have wifi ?
If so then maybe its the router.

I'd contact the maker and see what they advise.

Or buy an iphone you might get the same problem but hey....you can admire the sleek design while your waiting for the page to load !"

Since found that the other orange phone we have in the house has a much better connection to the network. I am so confused as to why my new Rio doesn't have the same connection.
