Left work at half five and saw a fake PCN, two in fact, on a car in the car park. Went back to work, grabbed a pen and a bit of scrap paper, wrote a note telling them not to pay and left a link to here, opened the little plastic packet and placed it inside.
Fingers crossed the PPC didn't see me do it!
I had to laugh at the packet that said "Unauthorised persons must not remove or tamper with this ticket" Oh really?
Fingers crossed the PPC didn't see me do it!

It would be interesting to ask the PPC the definition of an "authorised person" and how that "authority" is obtained. Yet another case of a PPC trying to fool people into thinking these are official documents.
It's as bad as that other warning found on PPC tickets "it's an offence for anyone but the driver to remove or tamper with this document" I have asked both the BPA and a PPC (Town and City) what that "offence" would be. Both replied it would be classified as theft. I could see that being laughed out of court. (if it ever got that far). What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I think you're right, it's just another way the PPC's try to give the impression that they are a body of authority. I did think what they could do if I just removed it, but that would cause more problems for the registered keeper, as they would be wondering why they are getting letters for not paying the ticket that they never had.
There's nothing I can see that they could have done if I opened the packet and put the note inside, despite what they suggest.0 -
Well done!
I carry a few typed notes with the URL for this forum and pepipoo, telling people not to pay. The notes are small enough to tuck right behind a fake PCN out of sight - but cannot be missed when the driver picks up the offending 'ticket'. I have put these on cars on a couple of occasions now.
Haven't seen a fake PCN for a while though, you have to be in the right place at the right time to get there before the driver comes back.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
