Just a warning to other moneysavers.
I was in Blackpool the other week for a few days away. Anyway I arrived in the middle of the night (about half twelve). If you have been there before you will know that there are double yellow lines everywhere, not a square inch of tarmac that hasnt got them on I think.
So I parked my car down a little bit of parking space between 2 houses, just for the night.
I came out the next morning and found 2 fat burly blokes loading my car on to the trailer. When I enquired what they were doing they pointed out a notice which notifies you of the restriction. It was in a high up window and was impossible to see in the dark, hence me not seeing it when I parked there.
Upshot of it all I am £225 worse off. Absoloutly scandalous charge seeing as other companies have a limit of £100 (I looked on Google)
The company was called RDS Services (nothing on google) Unfortuantly I didnt get a reciept as I was only concerned with getting my car back at the time so have no details on them bar the name.
And of course it was cash only so I couldnt pay on credit card and then dispute it

omg!!
i live in blackpool
i''ll ask around about rds. haven't heard of them myself. did they give you a receipt? please say they did cos otherwise i don't know what you'd be able to do - just sounds really dodgy that the sign wasn't clear.
if you want to pm me and give me the name of the road etc i can try and get a number for you.0 -
I cant do anything about it - no receipt. I only posted it here to warn people.
It was in Coronation Street I am pretty sure, if not Vance RoadWycombe Till I Die0 -
There is no way I would pay that amount of money to anyone on the street let alone not get a receipt for it - I would have called the cops and asked for their assistance to check these guys were real first
Traffic wardens and clampers in Blackpool are rife but for residents like me that can be a good thing as holidaymakers often take the p**s and make life for us worse.
A little basic advice for anyone: If there's double yellow lines, don't park thereIf there's parking restrictions, don't park there!!!
There are so many car parks in Blackpool it's crazy and if you bother to find out in advance, there's plenty of space to park in different areas of the town for free on the street.

Yep, after that I paid £6.50 a day in a car park near the Hounds Hill shopping centre. A lesson learned I suppose, all be it a very expensive oneWycombe Till I Die0

that's expensive but it does have the advantage of your car being right in the town centre. there's cheaper ones a few mins walk away. if you ever go again (although i wouldn't be surprised if you've been put off!!) pm me and i'll let you know the cheaper ones!0
