Have taken the leap and gone for EDF's Fixed 2014, fingers crossed that was a good move!

Well, you'll be keeping them crossed a good while, as we won't know the answer to that until sometime in 2014!
You haven't necessarily bought the cheapest fix-but you have bought peace of mind. Think of the extra as an insurance premium.

With the latest indications that oil prices are now likely to fall (gas, and indirectly electricity, prices are linked to the price of oil) due to the developments in Libya, then fixing for such a long period may not be the right move. Only time will tell.

However, you have bought peace of mind in that you now know what price you will be paying until 2014 no matter what happens to the market.
