hi some help please,my neighbour throws cat poo onto my garden and narrowly missed me yesterday!!!! i confronted her and asked what she was doing and she said it was from my cats and therfor i was getting it back.i asked her if she could prove it was my cats as there are loads on our street. Is she legally allowed to do this as i have kids too? i cannot disprove it was my cats and if she had proof i would gladfully go round there and pick it up but i should not put up with it being thrown at me should i ?

It is her responsibility to keep cats out of her garden if she doesn't want them in, not cat owners responsibility to keep them out. Whether she could prove it was your cats or not it wouldn't matter.
Throwing cat poo over the fence, regardless of whose cat it came from is probably some sort of offence, (other than the obvious one of course!
) not sure what but could possibly be fly tipping or littering? Contact your council for advice. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0 -
Perhaps if the neighbour in question got a dog then cats would not go in her garden!!! My westie won't allow cats in my garden, which I am glad about as I love the garden birds and they don't mind our westie. The birds even eat while he is out in the garden.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

Sorry this isn't going to help but there was someone on last week saying that their neighbours cat poo'd in their garden all the time & could they throw it back - wondering if it was your neighbour .....
Anyway, I'd be furious and there's no way she should be throwing it back ... however ... it is really terrible when you have cats pooing in your garden all the time and the poor women's probably being driven demented by it.
She can quite easily solve the "it's your cat" argument by taking a pic the next time the cat does it! If it is your cat, then offer to pick up (which you seem happy to do).
I'm lucky in that both of mine only use the tray - and, yes, I do know this for a fact - they both come tearing in the door, run up to the tray, go and then go flying back outside again (bit annoying sometimes but it saves problems like this).
Get me out my neighbours have dogs and it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference, both my cats still go into these gardens!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Must be calm dog's, ours will not allow a cat in at all. Last cat that came in he chased in to the shed and would't let it out. Needless to say that cat only ever goes in my front garden now. Which YES drives me mad when you tidy your flower beds and get a handful of smelly poo. My kids can't help me in the garden due to other peoples cats.
Don't get me wrong my parents have a cat and it lives indoors.
One thing I KNOW works is dried coffee beans from coffee machines. If you scatter those in your garden cats don't like it. Plus it won't harm the cats. Although it can limit what plants you can have.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

I am lucky with my lot too, they all do exactly the same.
And I remember some time ago being in a house with a garde, having a young child and no cats of my own and neighbour's cats pooing all over the place including out srawberries so I do feel for your neighbour, honestly.
Not everyone likes cats, not everyone wants them in their garden, hardly anyone is overjoyed at havibng cat's poo/wee in their garden.0 -
Id suggest you throw it straight back
Now I hate cats pooing in my garden but the law has made it clear - owners cant be held responsible for their cats ( unlike dogs) so even if it was your cat - tough - she has no redress
So WW£ will break out but the law is on your side - cats can not be own or controlled the same way as dogs hence you run over a dog and you have to report it to the police, run over a cat - you drive on0 -

I think its been proven in court that a cat can not be trained therefore if it runs out in front of a car and causes an accident - tough titty but if a dog does then the owners are liable0 -
I hate cat !!!!!!, and I detest cat owners who think I have to put up with it in my garden.:mad:Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

OP that is awful.
I have a really nice neighbour who isnt keen on cats, I have 2 one adult and one kitten.
Gizmo the adult cat has taken a shine to pooping in her garden, i feel so bad about that, i know i know but she really is a nice neighbour,
I've bought gels (get off) this has not worked, last week i bought a [FONT=verdana,arial,helvetica][SIZE=-1]Defenders Mega-Sonic Cat Repeller and gave it to her, it's not working so far
my friend said there are plants that cats really hate, the plants won't harm the cats but they just can't stand them.. fern like leaves!!!
my neighbour even agrees with me it's not my fault gizmo has choosen her garden, but i still feel really bad about it.
could you not perhaps try and help her, it might be your cat, it might not, perhaps get some gel, or offer to get some plants that (sorry dont know the name someone here might) the cats hate.
some people love cats, some dont, and when you dont and someones cat is pooping in your garden it isnt nice.
