Managed to get 4 boxes of steak knives today for 68p - SEL was still £3.25 though. Then I went to the Failsworth store and they were still priced at £6.50 on the shelf. Needless to say there's still loads left
Manhattan bowls didn't scan at 28p though - strangely they were £1
Please does anyone have a barcode for the 5 x microfibre cloths or more info on the flower mugs?? ThanksAddicted to MSE0 -

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick (maybe thick sounding question) but im quite new to this whole glitching/bargain hunting thing, if a product doesnt have a reduced sel on it, how do you know it will scan less at the til? For example the plates which sel at £3.25 but scan at 28p etc .... or is it a case of someone wanting to buy them anyway and posting the fact that they scan less? What should I look out for when Im nosying around my Mr T? Could really use some new kitchen ware but dont think mine has any price scanners other than the ss tills.
Thanks in advance for the tips0 -

If you don't have a scanner in store, then you can't check beforehand. People do note from the thraed, what is going through below the SEL price. Barcodes are very useful, sometimes a product is changed very slightly, and it's the old stock that is reduced, whereas the new stock, often has a different barcode, and goes through at full price.
If you find the right product, but can't price check, people often take one of the item to put through the tills. Either accept it at the price it goes through at, or ask the till assistant to cancel that item, or using the self scan till, ask the TA ther to cancel the item.
If you do get the bargain you were hoping for, then you can go back in for more of themThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
Can I also ask a (thick!) question please...
My local (Lichfield) Tesco is an large "Extra" store - am I right in assuming that as it's a big and relatively new store, that they should have the scanners in there? Or does it not work like that?
If so, where abouts in the store are they located? I haven't a clue what to look for or where!
Thanks in advance!0 -

The scanners are usually mounted on one of the pillars (as they need electricity). They're a grey, rectangular ish box, pass the barcode across it and it will display the current price for that item.
