I agree Ed with the first bit
There was a comma missing in my post, an I think you misunderstood. I meant to say:
Use an IFA (comma) choose a suitable managed fund or fund of funds. I infer here that any adviser should be doing more than choosing a managed fund as this, I agree, would be a waste of money.
Incidentally the fund of funds route is not necessarily much more expensive anymore.0
