Scottish Power Fix until Jan 2015 for extra now?
I've been with Scottish Power on their Standard dual rate for ages but have started to review prices and I'm surprised by how much I can save. I'm finding it all a little confusing.
They've offered to fix rates until Jan 2015 for an extra £2 per month. Total spend £88 per month. I also understand I can save a little bit more by moving to online billing.
I seemed to have to prompt the customer services rep into further options/savings over the phone and felt they were playing their cards close to their chest (personal opinion!).
I just can't seem to fathom if this is a good deal or not
Any help or advice gratefully received.
Many thanks

What are the charges for the new fix.
It is unlikely that they will just charge you £2 extra a month - i presume they mean that based on your current charges it's an extra £2 per month. Check the charges per kwh for gas and electricity - it may be a rip off!!!0 -

You are making this difficult for yourself. Using a Consumer Focus accredited comparison website enter your current tariff and your annual consumption(s). Select "fixed or capped" if that is what you want. You will get a list of "fixed or capped" tariffs in price order. Look for Scottish Power Fixed Price Jan 2015. Read off the headline cost and/or the saving.
If you do not know your annual consumption, if you use "typical" consumption, then simply read off the % cost difference. The % will be "approximately" right.0 -
