Advice Needed - My garage door won't open properly

My garage door won't stay open. The 2 torque springs above the garage door look okay. However, a wire/cable on the right hand side has snapped and so is not connected to the spring. The right hand cable looks fine. These cables apppear to hold the door up when opened.

I hope he above make sense as I am not an expert.

At the moment, I have to put a stap ladder underneath the garage door in order to keep it open.

My query is can I fix it myself ? and, if I can, what should I do to it ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

you need to have both sides connected as they hold the door up, so one won't be able to hold the weight - and will eventually snap (only know that because it happened to me the other day!!
you can get some steel rope to replace it, but it's a :mad: to do!

Google 'Garage Door Spares' plenty companies that supply cables for various makes of doors, I have changed them in the past it is not difficult if you are reasonably competent at DIY.
