Urgent kitchn fitting/ plastering advice!!!

Help please folks!!!
As I type we're in the process of having a new kitchen fitted. We have asked them as part of process to plaster/ make good the walls were the tiles came off since we're only having upstands to the walls rather than new tiling.
So this morning they have ripped out the old kitchen/ done the plumbing necessary (having sink moved to opposite wall) and the electrics + they've built all the base units and partially installed them.
Shouldn't they have made good the plastering prior to installing base units?
Also does this not seem a bit quick to have done all this is prob 6 hours - there are 3 of them (call it 2 1/2 since one has not been here for 3 hours)?
Do I need to say something or leave them to get on with it?

Thanks in advance!

  • no its not to quick if you are happy with work and the plastering could of been done before the units went in but its not the end of the world that it hasnt. Why dont you ask them when they are going to do it? Also if you are paying them a day rate tell them they are working to fast and youd prefer to go without that new kitchen for a little while longer :)
  • Our kitchen needed replastering and the fitters didn't do behind the cabinets etc.

Thank you - seem to be doing good job. They are just very quick but maybe that's because I'm comparing it to that fact it took me and my hubby 10hours just to build a childs garden tee pee!!!! He He. I'm not designed for DIY!

Speak to them, and explain why you are concerned. It is possible they have been misinformed, or you do not understand how they are doing the job.

In my case I had the kitchen rewired and replastered beforehand but I arranged it myself not the kitchen people.
