Kandco/Empire stores rewards

Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem and any advice to give.
My Mum last year brought about £1000 worth of bedroom furniture from Empire stores. So she should have earnt a nice amount in their rewards scheme, the company then changed to Kandco. Mum has been serously ill and is only now getting back into things when we noticed that she has not recieved any money in the so called rewards sceme.
Have called the company and they say that she never recieved any rewards from Empire and now that the company has changed they will not be giving her any rewards either so she has lost about £120.
Anyone got any advice?

From what I understand with the rewards to earn them, the items you order have to be full price items and not from the sale, also if you do not order for one season you lose your rewards.
So if your mum had ordered in the from the spring/summer season and did not order in the autumn/winter season any rewards she had would be removed.
Sorry I can't help any further but hopefully this might help a little0 -
Thanks for the info but she did pay full price and had placed orders so should not have lost her rewards. It's due to Empire changing to Kanco thats the reason they are giving for not paying the rewards.0

I also had a similar problem, this is what they told me...
The changeover began in October 2010, the final changes taking place on 7th January. She would have earned rewards on her purchases up to October, but on her payments from October. However, whatever her balance was at the time of the changeover in January, she would have to pay off fully before she earns any rewards on good she has bought since. So, if she had a balance of £500 in January and only pays £50 a month, she would not be earning any rewards until 10 months later.
I have actually argued with them about this (and won). My balance was around £800 in January, but I argued it should have been the balance as of October (when I stopped earning rewards). Since January alone I would have paid over £1500 as I pay more back than required and I regularly buy clothes and stuff for the house. After several phonecalls and a threat of taking the matter further, they finally conceded and paid me what I had earned on all payments after the £800. It wasn't as much as I thought it should have been, but its better than a kick in the teeth.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

Kazipoo - what was your argument to them please as this might help LadyCatnap.
When her original order was placed the terms and conditions were that she would receive commission (rewards) for the payments made clearing the balance - where does this leave customers? Can she return the goods as KandCo changed the terms under which the order was placed? Of course not, it seems completely unfair that they change the terms under which the goods were originally purchased.
They did not give what was originally offered, if the new company is prepared to take on peoples accounts then it is unfair for that company to change what terms were in place. The goods are over priced in the first place but the rewards make it worth while being able to spread the payments.
As usual the customer loses out!0 -

I recently noticed I had not received any rewards for about 8 months. I emailed them and they credited to to the account as a 'correction'0 -

I argued that I had paid off the outstanding balance as of January in full in the previous months, they finally agreed after I threatened to take the matter further.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs
