New combi boiler + radiators

Options
I've had 2 quotes for installation of a new combi boiler + radiators, and they sound high to me:

Quote 1:
Supply + fit new Ideal Logic Combi boiler to include tme clock + room stat
Supply + fit 4 radiators to include all pipework and valves
Strip out old gas + water heaters, make good
Run new gas supply from meter to boiler position
Supply + fit inline scale reducer
Refill + test, add inhibitor to system and register with Gas Safe
£4820

Quote 2:
Supply + fit Baxi Duo Tec 28 combi boiler
Supply + fit 4 radiators with thermostatic valves
Supply + fit programmer + room stat
Remove old heaters + make good
£4900

Any thoughts on whether these sound fair? The location is south Bucks.

Obviously we cant see the job and I don't know what prices are like in your areas compared to mine, but very generally I would say they are both around £1200 ish too much.

    Well by my pricing anyway.

Just had large baxi duo tech boiler attached to new gas supply (meter moved), new radiators x12 all with room stats (plus fit 2 chrome radiators of which we had paid for), new pipework throughout, remove old pipework, water tanks, boiler and immersion tank for 3,400. live Notts. Also piped my new kitchen ready for fitters, new outside tap and washing machine plumbed into utility.

  • Crikey - does he fancy a holiday in Devon? Our quote is for a Grant Vortex 36 combi (oil), supply & fit 5 new radiators, remove old water tank, first fix for new kitchen and make good. £5600, but I have just had a price for the boiler of £2450 inc VAT (discount through PTS), which makes the job seem quite pricey.

Sounds okay or perhaps a bit high for the Surrey/Hampshire borders. I had a WB 30CDI put in, old boiler removed, old immersion tank removed, new pipes in the screed, new valves for £2700 + £1200 + £500 = £4400. I have 7 radiators in 3 rooms, one bathroom, and hallway.
